Top Tips on Hiking in the Pyrenees

I've done several hikes now in the Western Pyrenees and even worked in one of the mountain huts, or refuges, and had a fabulous experience every time. It's not particularly easy to find information in English so I thought I'd outline some key things to look out for if you want to walk in either the Spanish or the French Pyrenees.
Firstly, start on the French side! If you're coming from the UK or anywhere North it's much easier to access the mountains from France and it's easy to walk to the Spanish Pyrenees from there.
One easy access point is Gavarnie. You can take a train to Lourdes and there are buses from there to Luz and to Gavarnie. From Gavarnie it's just a 3-4 hour walk to the Sarradets r
